If you're handy, they can be refilled with batteries purchased at a CB or Ham Radio Fest, or even a Computer Fest. The batteries for my orphaned drill were bad, and I upgraded from 1200 Mah to 1800 Mah cells from a Radio Shack radio controlled car power pack. Just be sure you transfer any protective devices, such as thermistors or diodes, etc. along to the new home. The 1800 Mah cells give me a little more running time, and the voltage is the same. (7.2v in my case) Each NiCad cell is 1.2v. (6 for mine, and 8 for 9.6v, in your case.) TNX, Scotty
