Well said. I tend to be pretty retentive about finishing as well. I'm just not quite as much of a master craftsman as you though so have less to protect. Finishing is probably the least forgiving, most time consuming, and easily destroyed step in the whole wooden boating realm of things. However, problems in all the other steps continue to crop up....
