Hey Don, I assume the Woodworker's saw is the portable that came out about three years ago. I've never looked at the saw myself, but a friend was considering the purchase of one. My impression from his description was that the fence was totally different from conventional table saw fences--that the fence was integral to the design of the table meaning that the fence could not be replaced by an aftermarket fence. I could be way off base with this but make sure you look before leaping. Also, last time I noticed the price of a DeWalt, unless you really want or need a portable saw, for about the same money you can buy a very serviceable contractor's saw. Good hunting, Tom
: Two questions, really. The first is about the various aftermarket fences. I
: am thinking of getting the DeWalt Woodworkers saw but it will not be until
: this winter sometime. In the meantime I was thinking of a good aftermarket
: fence to improve my Craftsman that could later be used for the DeWalt. Any
: comments, suggestions?
: The next question, is there a good woodworking forum similar in content and
: quality to this Kayak Forum? This is a high quality forum but I don't
: think I shoud be stuffing in general woodworking questions.
