: I'm just finishing a Chesapeake 17 and plan to take it on an extended trip to
: the north end of Vancouver Is. BC later this summer. Can anyone advise me
: on good (cheap) tide prediction software for IBM PCs?? I've paddled the
: San Juans quite a bit and the tides there are pretty wild so I want better
: info when I go north.

The cheapest and best option is to purchase the tide tables for the north end of the Island for C$6.50. No batteries required. Work when wet. Yes, the tides and currents can be pretty dramatic!
