In Response To: sqeegie fill coat question (peter czerpak)

Hi Pete, I don't see the need to squeegee subsequent coats as the glass has semi-cured epoxy in it. Squeegeeing is for getting out EXCESS resin and making the resin content in the wood and glass even. As far as tipping with foam brushes isn't that to take care of bubbles?-lee
: Just glassed the hull of my second S&G last night (6 oz cloth and raka
: epoxy). I rolled the epoxy into the glass, then sqeegied with a 6"
: wide plastic paint scraper/spackel spreader, then tipped out with a foam
: brush. When I roll on the first fill coat tonight, should/can this be
: sqeegied also?

: Thanks for the monday help.

: Pete czerpak albany, NY

: PS. The first coat went great and my SO did it all herself with me
: supervising. I only sqeegied, mixed epoxy, and tipped out. she did all the
: rolling. Hope she doesn't pick up the boatbuilding bug - or maybe I do.
: Unless her boats are prettier and lighter than mine ;)
