Rehd,

I built a Glen-L Rob Roy a couple of years ago out of Home Depot 1/8" Luan. I went nuts with epoxy - which was in general a bad thing - but I can tell you that the stuff is still plenty flexible after coating with epoxy. I was using some stuff mixed up by a local laminates expert that was perportedly "super" strong. It was certainly significantly thicker than the MAS and Raka I have since used. In any case - don't let flexibility worries stop you from precoating.

BTW - I don't think my hull shape came out exactly as designed - but it is a very fun boat. I don't use it much because it paddles like a cereal box compared to my Ches. 17'. However, one of the funnest afternoons of my life was paddling it down a little Class II section of the Verde River near Phoenix, AZ. The thing can barely float my 230 lb bulk - but mighty fun to run through little haystacks none-the-less.

Best Regards, PC
