Hi David,
Your formula should work, except you will be typing out a lot of formulas instead of just "copy and paste".
On some of the forms I think the diagonals help to define the chine. Also, if you import your excel file into autocad and fit the polylines to get a fair curve, you may find you need to remove some points. I found if the points were really close to each other they sometimes caused a kink in the curve.
