Hi Hank;

Thanks for the cutting info. I have a carbide laminate bit with a ball bearing stop that I was planning on using for the bottom trim. I forgot how tough fiberglass is on tools. Are you of the opinion that my bandsaw blade will dull before completing the cut? It would probably allow me the most control if I could successfully cut with it. Then again, bandsaw blades aren't exactly cheap, either . . .

I know the type of routing bit you're talking about. I don't have any specifically made for the task, but I have a drawer full of small carbide endmills - I might investigate to see if any of those will work. Working freehand with a rotary cutting tool doesn't inspire me with confidence, but then again. I've never tried it. It might be simpler than I imagine. I'll let you know how it turns out - If you see a laminated wood coaming lip appear on my site pix, you'll know I cut my laminations in half or something . . . ;-)
