Hi Mick;
The lightest wood flour I have is from sanding the spruce, and it is almost white. When I mix it with epoxy, it turns dark brown. I had to use 4:1 of silica:wood flour to get light enough for patching uses, and even that is a little dark.
I'm going to get some chalk today and try some experiments. I might even add some silica, but that will make sanding difficult. Once I've got the color down I'll add a few coats of epoxy to get a little clear buidup. If I can match the color, it *should* look just like the spruce on my deck.
Thanks for your help, Spidey
