Yo Ronnie, Isn't the Collective knowledge here good enough for you? Just kidding. We do pay attention to what is and has been said--you can do it any way you wish, but it is much easier to glass the deck first--it is not easy to get that large piece of deck glass to conform to that sudden vertical surface--much easier with small scrap pieces.
Do a quick search on 'Nick' and 'coaming'...look at this post: http://www.kayakforum.com/cgi-bin/Building/index.cgi?read=26357
The designer's way is often, but not always the best way. Sometimes you have to strike out on your own and do what you think is right. You know, there is more than one way to skin a cat besides putting its head under a deck bungie and pulling on its tail! ;)
Happy Building, Shawn
: Did read the book and am using it to build my Guillemot. Someone on the board
: said Nick probably didn't use the method that is in the book. Just wanted
: to hear from Nick on the subject.
