Which ever produces the fairer curve would be my choice. When stripping my Great Auk form seven caused an unsightly curve in the hull. I let the strips float about 1/8" above this form to produce the smooth curve that looked best. I view the forms as guides to the general shape and do what ever it takes to get nice curves.
