See response above. I have removed screws the way you describe, and the method works--for screws that are larger than this one. It is a #4 by 3/4", and the diameter of the piece that remains in the stem is about 1/16", if you don't count the threads. I'd have to be a dentist to drill and tap a hole in the center of it! Thanks for your thoughts, though.

: diameter that is small enough, & it has to be a ccw thread. never saw
: one, never did it, it's just the way I was told broken screws are taken
: out.
