: Rehd: I gave it a try, and I don't think it came out bad for the first
: attempt. I joined together two pieces of oak, and I also joined together a
: piece of cherry and a piece of yellow poplar.
: I finger jointed the ends of the 3/4" board before I ripped the strips.
: I put a dime in the picture to give a perspective of what the strips and
: finger joints would look like.
: Think it will work?

Sorry John, but, for some reason, my "toaster parts" computer is giving me a little static this morning and I can't seem to bring up the image. Went to the net with the url and came up with nothing. ??
I know the look though and I think you are going to start something here. Everyone is going to run out and start the hunt for their own shaper and cutters. Lee Valley look out. lol That will definitely give your joints a HIGH TECH look. I'll check back later and see if I can get into the image or you could just email it.
Now, don't start having too much fun here. You have a business to run ya know. ;)
