John, I used my bandsaw with a resaw blade (woodslicer) and had excellent results. There was some thickness variation but not objectionable as the cove and bead always lines up on at least one side perfectly, this side placed against the form keeps the strips even on the inside of the boat and planing the outside is a necessary (and pleasurable) part of the procedure anyway.
