Re: I spray our finishes... with what equipment?

I have a small Wagner airless for small home projects, and would not recommend using it for varnish. It is more of a splatter gun than a sprayer. I used it for spraying enamel ona metal railing, and it worked fine. You have to spray the paint on quite thickly and allow it to 'run together' to get a smooth finish. My thoughts on spraying varnish was to use a sprayer that allows an extremely fine mist so that the varnish doesn't have to run so much, and be in danger of sagging.

Just my $0.02 worth.

: Been looking at the Wagner "airless" type of sprayer. Figure that
: "airless" would be preferable to conventional sprayers because
: they would not dissipate the solvents in the varnish as badly. The Wagners
: come in a variety of "duties" and are rated by their power. By
: reading the boxes, it looks like the 85 watt model is too light a duty and
: I think that I would have to go for the higher model - I forget the rating
: number.
