: I, too, had a problem with the RP back band when I hung it as described in
: the directions. I would constantly end up with it underneath me and all
: twisted up when doing reentry practice.

: I've found that it works best when hung with bungee by only the top mounting
: loops. This angles it backward a bit at the top when you're not in the
: boat and makes it much easier to slide back in. I use a single hook under
: the center of the rear of the coaming to hold it up, which allows easy
: access to the area behind the seat where my "day bag" resides.

: I use the lower mounting loops on the back band to create larger loops of
: bungee which hold my paddle float. That gets it out of the way, but it's
: readily accessible from either side of the boat. The entire system is made
: from a single length of bungee with multiple knots in it to form the
: loops. It's clean, simple and eliminates entry problems.

That's an interesting paddle float location. It doesn't unnecessarily clutter the deck, close to the cockpit location so you stay in contact w/ yak at same location thruout setting and placing paddle, like you say accessible from both sides, could form some back rest, and assuming foam like Randy Knauf make on the trips board - always ready. I now wonder if a foam backrest could double as a float. Thx.
