Aaaaaargh!!!
I pulled the leftover puck of epoxy from my measuring cup and found that, 24 hours later, it is actually still rubbery. The odd thing is that my regular 84" paddle is slightly tacky, but, I hope, useable. The storm paddle is much tackier and still leaves fingerprints. Both were from the same well-mixed (but poorly measured) batch. The regular one must have recieved a heavier coat.
Right now I have them under a 'tent' of cardboard boxes with (2) 100-watt work lights and the temperature is a good 85 degrees under there. I hope this is still salvageable. On the plus side, the sealer coat cured properly, it's the second coat that didn't kick. If I have to remove it, I won't have to go all the way down to wood. I had hoped to put a moisture-cure polyurethane clearcoat on them, but if the epoxy isn't fully cured, the hard urethane won't be durable -- kind of like putting that chocolate shell on ice cream...
