Hi Mark;

When you complete your hull, you'll have a better idea as to how much you'd like to experiment on the deck. Stripping is a fairly simple operation, if a bit tedious . . .

As to stapleless, you can get a pretty good rhythm going if you're working with half-strips. Working both sides of the kayak at once, that's four 1/2 strips before you come around again. If your joints are reasonably tight, you can unclamp (untape, whatever) and start around again in about 30 minutes.
