Spidey, great site. Really appreciate it...pictures certainly are worth 1,000 or more words. Eliminating bead and cove! WoW....you've got me thinking...this whole project could really be simplified and sped up! I may just try it. I'm pretty good with a block plane and my woodworking tools, but I was worried about the delicacy of the coves edges...butting strips edge to edge, bevelling where necessary may be the way to go.
