:I came across some siding being discarded. It is old growth redwood with very fine growth rings. It bends fine and plaining the plainsawn boards isn't even a problem. I did have a slight respiratory problem reaction and needed a dust mask even for sawing and routing. I bought one with cartridges for sanding. The wood is beautiful and almost as lignt in weight as cedar. Very uniform in color and absolutely not even a hint of a knot. Use it if you can get it. Mike
