Spidey, do you think your varnish-on-rag method would work to cover scratches on the deck of a kayak? I'm concerned about how visible the repair would be? I have some big scratches under my bungees, probably made by grains of sand on the paddle when practicing self-rescues. Didn't want to have to revarnish the whole deck...
