removing mildew from work in process

The weather has been too nice, so I have been not working in the garage for the last few weeks.

My naked, not-yet epoxied plywood has been in the garage the whole time. The garage is pretty moist, and the naked wood has started to discolor with what looks like mildew. Tiny black specks. The part under the packing tape from my last glue step is still clear.

So, who knows the best way to remove incipient rot from 4 and 6 mm mahogany plywood?

CLC suggested wetting it down with a solution of ammonia, and also suggested that a solution of clorox is a bad idea, it might interfere with epoxy bonding to the wood. I suspect that Clorox might dissolve more than the mildew.

Also who has an opinion on why no other wood in the garage does the same thing? The whole garage is wood (builders 2by lumber and plywood) and is dry and sound after 40 years with no treatment on the interior.

Thanks all.
