I suggest a rag dampened with laundry bleach and a little rubbing. Laundry bleach is pretty diluted already and is effective with fresh mildew. To prevent ongoing bleaching you should neutralize with a weak acid like white vinegar - again the damp rag. Finally, a rag dampened with water then sanding to remove the fuzzies when it dries.
