Hee hee hee. Ya know, it would be relatively quick and easy to build a couple ya know...

: Seems like it should be a fairly simple task to strip build a cask for
: fermentation and aging. A couple of circular forms for the ends. Mount
: them to your external strongback using a support attached to the outside
: of the form All the strips would be the same length, and either bead and
: cove, or have a slight, consistent bevel, probably in the range of say 3
: to 5 degrees depending on the number of strips involved.

: The outside would be fiberglassed for sure, and the inside could be either
: glassed or just coated with three coats of epoxy resin. The 2 forms could
: be epoxy coated and/or glassed beforehand.

: When not used for brewing, casks like this would be excellent flotation
: devices for rafts and floating docks. This would also be a good way to
: disguise these things from pesky "Revenuers" while they are in
: use. And of course, if you are crazy enough to go over a waterfall in a
: barrel, you might as well go in a barrel you made yourself.
