Fair enough - the boat wasn't "thrown" out the window. That's why it still looks so good!
However, while we're being picky, it's known more as a Czech, rather than a Florentine, custom. The defenestration of Prague in 1618 is what started The Thirty Years' War. (See link below, as well as http://www3.telus.net/defenestrate/meaning.html )
