Sorry -- accidentally hit Post instead of Preview.

The rearmost one is 19'x21" & 42# and costs $1400 complete w/shipping -- as much as some Tupperware kayaks! Compare that to a CLC North Bay kit w/ hatches for $700. The $700 difference @ ~70 hours is only $10/hour, and shipping and varnish haven't even been considered.

When I got into kayaking 2 years ago, cost was a major factor. Why not pay 1/2 the price of a plastic kayak to get a wood kayak kit that would make for a better-performing (and prettier) kayak? Had I seen this ad 2 summers ago, I might have decided to just buy a wood kayak at the price of a plastic one.

But then I would have missed out on all that building fun and this BBS...
