: Can anyone offer some advice on the (best) way to attach nylon webbing the
: permanent connection side of the plastic buckles. I could sew them but I
: don't have a sewing machine. If sewing is the only real option, I'll take
: them to a tailor.
: Any other tricks with the nylon webbing would be appreciated.
: An aside... To eliminate the possibility of water getting into the wood along
: the screws, I drilled 1/4" holes and filled them with epoxy. I will
: then drill into the epoxy for the final screw hole.
: Lorne.
Lorne, There are little slide on thingy's that have three vertical bars III (with tops connected). I think they are called ladderlocks. When I use nylon webbing I cut it with a soldering gun with a flattened tip that is made for cutting or I have used a razor blade held with a vise grip. I heat the razor blade with a torch and cut the webbing. This sears the ends perfectly. I have found that the best webbing is the thinner stuff that is harder to find. The readily found thicker stuff is too stiff. I like 3/4" wide which is also harder to find.
My thoughts on webbing,
Larry C.
