I had to store my econo-17' S.G. Guillemot outside one day last week, prior to coating/glassing the exterior and guess what? The cheap ole luan now has a pretty tan! I glassed it this weekend and some last minute sanding caused the tan to dissappear in certian areas. I've talked myself into liking the "look" of an antique finish but can I expect the light areas to re-tan through the epoxy? I would expect spar varnish to stop the UV and tanning process, but just epoxy? The horrible patterns/worm holes in the luan actually look neat under the glass, this will be one unusual boat when I'm done! 21 days of construction and the end is in sight, I might make it in under 1 month!
