It needs to be two-way

On a hot day, the air can expand and blow a hatch or explode a sealed compartment. As the air cools, it can cause the compartment to implode. A two-way breather is necessary to eliminate this problem. The term "breather" implies that it allows the compartment to "inhale" and "exhale".
