Sew 'em
In Response To: Putting buckles on nylon webbing (Lorne)
Sewing will give you the most finished look and you end up with a less bulky strap. All it takes is a couple of rows of zig-zag stitches or bar-tacks with nylon thread. It shouldn't cost much to have someone do this for you.
I find a sewing machine to be as useful as most of the other tools I own and well worth the investment. I bought one specifically for doing this type of work and repairs/modifications on other outdoor gear, not to mention repairing clothing. You can probably pick one up cheap at a yard sale. Trust me, being able to sew is handy and doesn't make you any less of a man. Actually, women seem to be impressed by it. ;-)
