My butt joints cured with pits on the surface. I'm sure these are somewhat common, the ones that fill with white powder when sanded. Can't sand them out completely -- would be sanding the glass. Do they need to be filled now or will the saturation coat fill them?

If I need to fill them now, would I treat it like a drywall taping job? Fill, Squeegee, then Sand?
