I've used it for restoring rotting wood where it works great. I had a bunch of rafter tails in awful shape. I scraped out the worst of it and applied the CPES, then filled the voids with Smith Co's filler and sanded after curing. Here's the good part. I then forgot about it for a couple of years. The tails had been notched to accept redwood gutters, so I'd left a lot of end grain and horizontal surfaces in the direct sun and rain. Remarkably they were all in good shape.
If you've had a puncture of your fiberglass skin and the wood has absorbed moisture, the CPES seems to swallow the residue up and stabilize everything. As a bonding agent on new wood, it works very well also, but in that case it doesn't seem to penetrate significantly farther than standard epoxy. It also seems to stay relatively soft, even after cure, so I think that you'd want to top coat it in any case.
