Vernon,
Since Dean brought up cost, how much did yours cost? I did a plywood Walrus for $140.
Mike
: With a little luck, tonight I launch my 17 S.G. Guillemot after 23 days of
: construction. I started on June 19 buying the wood and spent 1-2 hours
: most evenings and 2-4 on weekend days. Having just finished a stripper, my
: plan was to slap together a second boat, paint it and use it as a
: "boat". I bought some crappy (sorry Rehd) luan and tore into it.
: Well, it turned out better than I imagined, the crappy wood has really
: cool grain under glass and the joints that I knew I would have to paint
: are actually acceptable. I'll wait 2-3 weeks for the luan to suntan evenly
: and start varnishing. Darn, I planned on a beater and can't in clear mind
: abuse it now! P.S. Have fun with the background stuff, I'm glad it wasn't
: a full shot of my garage.
