Came home tonight and launched in the pool. It's heck turning a 17' boat in a 20X40 pool. Sorry, left the digital camera at work. Without digging out invoices, I have about $160 in it with varnish, some minor fitting items left to go. I couldn't do it again for that price because I used up most of my leftovers. A few things I learned- Don't bother with a bunch of internal and external forms, just rope it together and cure in position. 5 minute epoxy is really 1.5 minute at 97degrees. It will melt the ice you are trying to use to slow the curing process. Luan turns REAL DARK and will bend beyond imagination (if threatened with an axe). Stacking the layers together for cutting guarantees both the L&R panels will be screwed up in the exact same spot. I personally cannot fill coat using epoxy without huge runs. A really neat 45 lb boat can be built in 39.75 hours for under $200. End pours with foam filler just melt the foam into goo. This is really addictive, but I have worse habits!
