I finished basic sailing lessons about a month ago, and the kids seem to prefer renting one of the 14ft training sailboats to paddling our Klepper double. I have been eyeing a Seahopper 10ft Kontender folding dinghy, as the sides fold up and in, so it ends up being a flat package in a matter of minutes (can't say that with the Klepper). Basically its kind of like a stich and glue except it uses neoprene-nylon hinges where it would be stitched up.

The March/April 1995 issue of Wooden boat had an article called Build the Sandwich Tern. It is an 8ft homemade version of a Seahopper, although the author did not have a sail rig designed for it. He used it as a tender for his larger boat. I've been contemplating rescaling this boat up a bit, and studying the Kontender to see how the sail rig is mounted.
