About anyone who carries Varnish will probably carry more Satin than gloss. The reason is that most of the varnish in your hardware stores and paint stores is intended for furniture use. Most furniture uses only Satin finishes unless it is a small piece that is for show. Then, you want more visibility. I have looked in the Orchard Supply and Home Depot here in Fresno/Clovis and they stock tons of Satin and you have to look real hard to find the Gloss.
