I find it hard to believe that a wood bulkhead is a problem. I've seen wooden bulkheads and they sure look nicer than foam. the foam also takes away about 6" of space if that is a concern when carring gear. I was looking at the Laughing Loon Kayaks at the Mystic Wooden Boat show a month back and those bulkheads were wood as well..sure looked good and acording to Laughing Loonies its never been a problem. If anyone knows of a problem in the practical use versus therey let us know...
