Hi Rehd;
I work in 90F+ temps and 75%RH+ conditions all the time in FL, so I've gotten accustomed to the faster cure timetable . . . First off, I've done it both ways - That is, mix the "stuff" with the resin first, or mix the resin and hardener first & then add the "stuff." Doesn't make a whole lotta' difference, as long as you "Beat the Clock."
The most important single ingredient is to keep your mixed epoxy from remaining in a large mass - - I have a cured cup-shaped lump of epoxy with a brush sticking out of it that serves as my reminder . . . I left 3-4 oz of epoxy in a nice cup-sized container while I diddled with getting cloth into position. The steam and heat were somewhat unexpected. It does look cool, but a waste of time and epoxy.
These days I mix in my "stuff" (by whichever means you choose, either way works fine), and then proceed to smear it thinly around the cup I'm working out of. That keeps the mixture from accelerated curing, and gives me up to an hour to work with it. Keep the mixture spread thin, and you won't have a chemical fire to contend with . . . I did it tonight, and even with 93F+ temps I had more working time than I needed by 3x . . .
Best Regards, Spidey
