A friend and I both experienced the same problems with our Carolinas. The bungies would pop out of the black holders. I called Percepton and they sent replacement holders that supposedly solved the problem. I've only used my boat once since replacing all the holders (The Pygmy coho has been getting paddled) but my friend hasn't complained about popping bungies.

You might want to give Perception a call before spending money. -Dave

: Hi, sorry for the funny description of the holder downer thingie widgets, but
: lots of people call them different things. I am looking for a source for
: stainless steel loopy jobbers to go on top of my kayak. I have a
: Perception Carolina, and it has these worthless plastic things that
: (supposedly) hold down bungee ropes for holding cargo. I have found them
: to be utterly ridiculous, as you try to put something under them, and the
: bungee rope falls out, every time. I would go to a marina, but they were
: wanting about $2 a piece for them, and I need about fifteen to twenty. Not
: a good way to spend $40 bucks if you know what I mean. If you have a jeep,
: you would call them footman loops, it is the loop type thing found on your
: windshield frame on the inside, above the rear view mirror, but I need one
: that is not as long, and a touch taller. If anyone knows where I might
: find something like this, please email me! thank you In advance!! Michael
