In Response To: Mating deck to hull (Larry C.)

: I'm getting close to mating the deck to hull on my Expedition Single. Can
: anyone describe Jay Babina's method of hot gluing the fiberglass tape in
: place before mating the deck and hull, Any pitfalls?

: Thanks, Larry C.

I was able to mate the hull to the deck this weekend. I did use the hot glue to hold the tape along the sheer but only about 3' on each end. The rest I was able to reach by hand. I used 2" 6 oz. on the ends with a layer of 1" on top. The mid sections I used 3" 9 oz. tape with a 2" layer on top. All tape was bedded in a thin Dookie fillet and wetted out. I used a 30 cc syringe on a stick to reach the ends. A bubble roller pressed the tape firmly and all excess epoxy was removed. Everything went smoothly.

Thanks again for the info.
