Precisely. Flexing the wire is not a problem, contiunually bending it would be.

OK, now I understand what you mean. You're trying to maintain the optimum cable angle at the skeg. It should work, but leaking might be a problem.

The bead I was referring to is the same idea as the slider control that Greg shows in his pictures. I saw some wooden beads in a craft shop the other day and thought they might make attactive skeg actuators for wooden boats.
