The boat would look a lot better if the planks were scarfed so that you have a single piece chine. There is an excellent article on this process in Tom Hills book "ultra light boatbuilding" Also WOODEN BOAT MAGAZINE could provide lots of help from its archives. ref building KINGFISHER.
