I just installed a new Yakima rack with "Q Clips" for gutterless mounting on our '96 Camry. I pulled the rubber door seal up so the clips would slide under it. It's a pretty beefy seal and the clips cannot go over it. There is increased wind noise (which I anticipated) but the steady drips during our weekend shower were not anticipated. Any suggestions? I had some ideas about snipping the seal so it could fit more snugly around the clips but will I be creating more problems when the rack is not on the car? (I have not checked on the replacement price for the seal but past experience would indicate it is probably enough to buy a graphite paddle!) I was also wondering about the effectiveness of the "air dam" that goes from the top of the windshield to the rack, supposedly to reduce drag, wind noise and other gremlins. Any experience with that? Thanks for any ideas.
