-- why does a kayak builder need someone else to install
: a clamp-on roof rack? To have someone to blame in case of failure! ( Thule dealer insisted) I'll also check with them, but I hate to waste paddle time driving to the dealer. Besides, I know how to frown and stare at stuff, and say things like "That orta do it!" Humphrey Bogart's upper lip used to stick part way up his caps when they were dry, (hence the strange smile) it occurred to me this problem might be similar. Silicone the lip and the cap, and no more strange smile. I'll give it a try. Elsewise, I'm gonna need a dry-suit for driving. Explains why Thule car drivers seem to be in a fowl mood whenever it rains!! TNX, Scotty
