I've been searching for sources for white cedar and found one today. Since I'm fairly new to Maine it took some "homework" to find these places. I bought 40 board feet of Northern White Cedar for $1.00/board foot. It's premium lumber, but not kiln dried. Some guy has a cedar fence post and furniture business in the Maine woods and sold it to me. Don't know if this is a good price....I had no other sources to compare it to. My plan is to cut it to probably 5/16" thickness and let it dry before I use it(I figure it'll dry much faster cut). Would appreciate feedback from the experts with experience in matters like this so I don't end up doing something dumb from my lack of experience. Thanks. Mark in Maine
