: This is how they do it: Peel back the outer cover of the bungie and cut away
: a bit (an inch or so) of the rubber core. Pull the cover back out to a
: fine point. The cover can then easily be fed through a snall hole,
: especially if you put it under tension as you pull.
I used this method for hatch holddowns on my Coho and it works great, no leaks!!! I stretched the bungee and wraped vinyl electrical tape (3M) around the stretched area, released the tension on the bungee and cut accross the taped area with a razor blade. The taped area stayed the size it was while stretched. It wont stay on very long, so insert it quickly in the undersized hole. Worked for me.
