In Response To: 90 degree twist required at water line. Little Auk (Ross Witherell)

: I'm stuck! I've stripped all the way to the water line on the Little Auk.
: It's getting very hard to twist the strips 90 degrees at the bow and
: stern, then lay flat on the bottom. I asked for half strips from the guy
: that cut my strips but did not get them. Is there anyway to accomplish
: this using regular strips?

: Ross Witherell

If those other methods won't work (they're the best), make a long (2ft or more) diagonal cut across the strip, slightly bevel, glue one in and then the other. Will be fairly ok as the grain will match across.

The other method is to take a razor knife or razor saw and rip from the end of the strip down say 1/4 the length. Steam, twist, let set up, glue. Altho a slight shingling, the grain will still match and the line will be pretty thin.
