I bought a Pygmy kit (coho) and the cloth came FOLDED not rolled. There were many creases and wrinkles in my cloth as well. When I applied the cloth to the boat I smoothed out as many of the creases as possible dry. I then carefully squeegeed the cloth to the hull & deck after it was all wetted out. By this time the epoxy had just started to thicken, and the squeegee smoothed everything out. I can't find a single wrinkle in the top coated FG.
I noticed that I got the best results when I held the squeegee at a small angle with respect to the cloth (25-30 degrees) and used just enough pressure to wipe some of the epoxy off the surface. You want to leave just enough epoxy on the cloth to fully wet it out, any more and the cloth might 'float' away from the wood. If the FG does 'float' some, the cloth may have a chance to show some of the wrinkle that you are trying to avoid. Ricci
