: how does one thin epoxe?
After mixing the epoxy very well, I mixed in Acetone and stired it until no thick epoxy strands were visible in the mix. You can then wipe it on with a paper towel. It only slows the cure time to tacky by a little as the Acetone evaporates. It is dry to touch over night. I know that epoxy continues to cure for at least 30 days. The thing I was wanting to know is, what effect varnish has on the extended curing. It seems that the thined epoxy would be cured enough to varnish much sooner than a thick coat. Any one have experience with this? I would call System Three, but in their Epoxy Book they state that if you want to use someone elses paint other than theirs "you are on your own"!(page 23 last paragraph)
