Must have been fun to paddle that boat - I love the design. I hope (but doubt) that Grant will be at the Rendevouz in Port Townsend next month. I've just got the hull stitched together on a Cormorant 16, another design of his, and I was very happy with the lines and how well the hull panels came together.

I've only built one S&G, a Chesapeake 16LT from the kit. So I had some trepidations about whether my novice skills were enough to build from plans (including lofting). But it looks great so far - and I can only attribute that to a beautiful design and the very accurate numbers Grant provides in his plans.

From here on in it shouldn't be much different than building from a kit. So I'm feeling much more relaxed. Just waiting for the UPS-person to show up with the epoxy and fiberglass I ordered. Patience seems to be a required virtue in all aspects of kayak building. . .
